Before -All of the
weight is on the left side of this living room. It has beautiful
furniture, but no focal point. The two slipper chairs are too far
away from the main seating area to allow for easy conversation. The
small pictures above the chairs are out of scale for the large wall
and lacking in visual interest. The area above the fireplace was
empty and uninteresting.
After - We borrowed the buffet from the dining room and placed
it across from the new U shaped seating arrangement. By adding the
slipper chairs to the new arrangement we’ve crated a cozy conversation
area. The large, abstract picture above the buffet creates a strong
focal point, balances the weight in the room and adds a much needed
spark of color. The new, round, gold-toned clock softens the angles of
the fireplace.
From Pulled Apart
to Put Together...
This narrow family room had an uncomfortable seating arrangement
that made T.V. viewing awkward. The owner wanted the treadmill to remain
in the room.
We switched the sofa and the entertainment center
to create a conversation area. The T.V. is now visible from
all seats, including the treadmill. An area rug, wall art and
colorful pillows create an exciting new look. We suggest that
the owner add a screen to hide the treadmill when not in use.
