From Put Off to Put Your
Feet Up...
Before - This living room was uninviting and seldom used. The lovely
fireplace was ignored as the focal point. The dark buffet server placed
below the built-in bookcase adds too much weight and detracts from the
fireplace. The two arm chairs seem lost in front of the large window wall.
After - We rearranged the furniture to create
a conversation area in front of the fireplace. We placed one arm chair
under the bookcase to soften the dark woodwork and the other chair was
placed at an "L" to the sofa with a skirted table between them. An area
rug and cocktail table now anchor the seating arrangement. Two lamps
were added to illuminate the space. The redesigned room now feels homey
and comfortable...a perfect place in which to entertain or relax.
